Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 01/2026

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 1,274 million euros in January 2026, which represents a increase of 14.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, France, the United States and Germany tood out with a total expenditure of 101, 90 and 77 million euros, a figure that represented a year-over-year variation of −42.1%, 2.1% and 93.1%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 185 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 12.7%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport that is not included in the tourist package (420 million euros) and expenditure on activities (280 million euros).
