Idescat and INE extend their collaboration on surveys to companies in Catalonia

Idescat and INE have formalised the four-year extension of the agreement for jointly conducting structural surveys targeting companies operating in Catalonia. This extension ensures continuity of the framework established on 9 March 2022 and consolidates a coordinated and efficient working model.

This agreement is based on criteria of efficiency in public spending and reduction of the statistical burden on companies, in accordance with Catalan statistical legislation. Cooperation between the two institutions makes it possible to take advantage of the primary information collected by INE, avoid duplication and ensure the quality and the coherence of the statistics.

The collaboration takes the form of a broad set of statistical actions, such as structural business statistics for the sectors of industry, trade and services, or statistics on products by these same sectors. It also includes, in the field of research and technology, surveys on ICT usage and e-commerce in businesses, business innovation and R&D activities; and, in the field of energy and sustainability, the Energy Consumption Survey and statistics on environmental protection activities.
