Tourism of Residents in Catalonia. Q4/2025 and 2025

The number of trips made by Catalans decreased by 10.5% in the fourth quarter 2025. People residing in Catalonia made 5.6 million trips, involving 19.7 million overnight stays, an average stay being 3.5 nights, and an expenditure of 2,178 million euros.

The expenditure of Catalans on trips in the fourth quarter came to 386 euros per person, which represents an increase of 8.0% in comparison with the fourth quarter of 2024, an expenditure of 111 euros per day, which represents an increase of 1.0%.

The number of day trips made by people residing in Catalonia stood at 8.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2025, 9.4% less than in the same quarter of the previous year.

In 2025 the number of trips made by Catalans decreased by 2.4%. According to the main destination of the trip, 54.3% of the trips of the Catalans were made in Catalonia (with an annual decrease of 6.8%); 26.3% went to the rest of the State (decrease of 0.6%) and 19.4% to foreign countries (increase of 9.1%). The total amount of expenditure by Catalan travellers grew by 6.8% and the daily average expenditure per person by 6.3%.
