Industrial Production Index. 02/2026

The calendar and seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index decreased by 0.3% year over year in Catalonia in February 2026. In month-over-month terms, compared to January 2026, the Index has increased by 1.5%.

By economic destination of goods, there was a year over year decrease in intermediate goods by 2.4%, in energy by 2.3% and in capital goods by 1.5%, while consumer goods increased by 3.3%. Regarding the Industrial Products Index, which does not include energy, it decreased by 0.1% compared to the same month of the previous year.

By sections and branches of activity, the highest year-over-year decreases were recorded in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (−14.7%) and in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (−4.9%); in contrast, the most outstanding increases occurred in in the manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (11.4%) and in the manufacture of pharmacological products (7.0%).
