The Consumer Confidence Index for Catalonia stood at 87.1 in February 2026, which represents an increase of 3.1 percentage points compared to the previous month and an increase of 5.9 points compared to February 2025.

This Index is based on consumers’ assessment of the current situation compared to six months ago and their expectations for the next six months, considering the following three components: the household economy, the labour market and the general economy.

Regarding the household economy confidence index, , it reached a value of 98.2, a figure that represents a decrease of 2.1 points compared to January, but an increase of 2.4 points compared to a year ago (February 2025). The expectations of the household economy stood out, remaining above 100 (specifically, at a value of 109.2) since November 2023 (except for July 2025). Nonetheless it decreased by 2.5 points compared to January.

In relation to the labour market confidence index, it reached a value of 85.5, representing an increase of 4.7 points compared to January 2026 and a year-over-year increase of 7.1 points.

Regarding confidence in the general economy, the index reached a value of 77.6, the lowest value of the three components, a fact that has been repeated since October 2024. This index, as the labour market confidence index did, also increased compared to January 2026 (6.5 points) and also in year-over-year terms (8.1 points).

In February 2026, the assessment of the situation compared to six months ago recorded an index for Catalonia of 79.0 points, 3.0 points higher than the index for the previous month (January 2026). These data are explained by the positive performance of confidence in two of its three components. In this sense, confidence in the situation of the labour market and confidence in the general economy increased compared to the previous month (7.3 points and 3.4 points, respectively), while confidence in the household economy decreased (−1.8 points).

In year-over-year terms, the assessment of the current situation increased by 3.1 points. This result was due to the year-over-year increase in confidence in the general economy (4.2 points), in the labour market (2.6 points) and in the household economy (2.3 points).

In relation to the next six months, the consumer confidence expectations index in February 2026 recorded a value of 95.2, an increase of 3.1 points compared to January 2026. This increase reflected the positive performance of two of its three components: assessments of expectations regarding the general economy and labour market increased (9.8 and 2.2 points, respectively), while the assessment of expectations regarding the household economy decreased (−2.5 points).

In year-over-year terms, i.e., compared to February 2025, the expectations index increased by 8.7 points. This increase reflects the positive evolution of its three components: expectations in the general economy increased by 12.1 points, expectations in the labour market increased by 11.6 points and expectations in the household economy also increased, although to a lesser extent (2.3 points).
