The value of exports of Catalonia was 8,044.6 M€ in February 2026, a figure that represents a year-over-year decrease of 3.5%. Imports, with a value of 9,027.2 M€, decreased by 2.8%.

As for exports by economic destination, intermediate goods decreased by 6.8% and capital goods by 0.9%; on the other hand, exports of consumer goods increased by 0.8%. By geographical areas, they decreased in other countries and territories of Europe (non-EU) by 17.8%, in America by 5.8%, in Asia by 5.5%, and in the European Union by 1.2%; on the other hand, sales to the rest of the world increased by 10.1%.

By branches of economic activity, the decreases in sales of the chemical industries (−17.5%; −444.0 M€) are noteworthy. On the other hand, the growth in sales of energy products, oil extraction and refining (17.1%; 30.3 M€) stands out.

As for imports by economic destination, intermediate goods decreased by 5.6%; on the other hand, capital goods increased by 2.1% and consumer goods by 1.1%. By geographical areas, purchases in America decrease by 20.7%, in Asia by 4.1%, in other countries and territories of Europe (non-EU) by 3.6%, and in the European Union by 0.8%; on the other hand, they increased by 12.5% in the rest of the world.

By branches of economic activity, the decreases in purchases in energy products, oil extraction and refining (−16.2%; −93.2 M€) and in the chemical industries (−15.4%; −297.7 M€) is noteworthy. On the other hand, the growth in purchases of motor vehicles and other transport equipment (12.3%; 196.0 M€) stands out.
