Statistics on Rural Tourism Accommodation Activity. Q1/2026

The number of overnight stays in rural tourism establishments in Catalonia increased by a year-over-year 19.0% in the first quarter of 2026, according to provisional data from the Rural Tourist Accommodation Occupancy Survey.

By country of origin, the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists grew by 14.2% (Catalan tourism increased by 10.9% and that proceeding from the rest of Spain by 66.3%) and foreign tourism grew by 74.8%.

On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in rural tourism establishments increased by a year-over-year 4.6%.

Note that in 2026 Easter was celebrated between the months of March and April in 2025 it took place in April.
