Industrial Production Index. 03/2026

The calendar and seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index decreased by 0.9% year over year in Catalonia in March 2026. In month-over-month terms, compared to February 2026, the Index has increased by 1.8%.

By economic destination of goods, there was a year over year decrease in intermediate goods by 0.9%, while consumer goods increased by 2.9%, energy by 0.8% and capital goods by 0.6%. Regarding the Industrial Products Index, which does not include energy, it decreased by 1.0% compared to the same month of the previous year.

By sections and branches of activity, the highest year-over-year decreases were recorded in the paper, graphic arts and recorded media industries (−11.1%) and in the manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (−10.4%); in contrast, the most outstanding increases occurred in other manufacturing industries (13.1%) and in the manufacture of pharmacological products (3.7%).
