The value of exports of Catalonia was 9,273.8 M€ in March 2026, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 5.2%. Imports, with a value of 10,583.6 M€, decreased by 0.3%.

As for exports by economic destination, those of all goods increase: capital goods by 30.2%, consumer goods by 3.9% and intermediate goods by 3.7%. By geographical areas, they increased in America by 6.2%, in the European Union by 5.2%, in other countries and territories of Europe (non-EU) by 2.2% and in the rest of the world by 24.6%; on the other hand, sales in Asia decreased by 5.4%.

By branches of economic activity, the increases in sales of mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (28.2%; 53.6 M€) and machinery and equipment (20.6%; 102.4 M€) are noteworthy. On the other hand, the decrease in sales of food products and beverages (−7.0%; − 86.9 M€) stands out.

As for imports by economic destination, capital goods decreased by 4.3% and intermediate goods by 3.5%; on the other hand, consumer goods increased by 6.8%. By geographical areas, purchases in America decreased by 20.9% and in other countries and territories of Europe (non EU) by 13.3%; on the other hand, they increased in the European Union by 2.0%, in Asia by 1.9% and in the rest of the world by 18.6%.

By branches of economic activity, the decreases in purchases of crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (−10.5%; −62.8 M€), mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (−8.6%; −70.5 M€) and office, precise and optical equipment (−8.4%; −22.6 M€) are noteworthy. On the other hand, the growth in purchases of motor vehicles and other transport equipment (11.9%; 217.8 M€) stands out.
