Industrial Production Index. 04/2026

The calendar and seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index increased by 5.2% year over year in Catalonia in April 2026. In month-over-month terms, compared to March 2026, the Index has increased by 0.4%.

By economic destination of goods, all sectors increased year over year: energy by 12.4%, capital goods by 3.4%, intermediate goods by 3.3% and consumer goods by 2.3%. Regarding the Industrial Products Index, which does not include energy, it increased by 4.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.

By sections and branches of activity, the highest year-over-year increases were recorded in the manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (13.4%) and in the manufacture of transport material (10.7%); in contrast, the most outstanding decreases occurred in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries (−3.2%) and in the manufacture of basic metals and metal products (−2.5%).
