Presentation of the awards for the 17th Nursery Competition for Surveys and Experiments
The award ceremony for the 17th Nursery Competition for Surveys and Experiments was held on Monday, 1 June. The competition is organised by the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Faculty of Science of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), with the support and involvement of Idescat, among others.
First prize in the category of 1st and 2nd year of compulsory secondary education was awarded to the work titled "Quina és la IA més eficaç?", from Damià Campeny Institute (Mararó). First prize in the category of 3rd and 4th year of compulsory secondary education was awarded to the work titled "Ens alimentem de voltatge?", from Serra de Noet Institute (Berga). Finally, first prize in the category of pre-university and vocational training courses went to the work titled "Davant del semàfor: l’estadística darrere la paciència”", from Mare de Déu dels Àngels School (Barcelona).
In addition, the special prize awarded by Idescat for the best work (at any educational level) among those using official statistical data went to the work titled "Rànquing de països sostenibles d'Europa: Anàlisi estadística de la relació de variables d'un país per saber la seva sostenibilitat", from Damià Campeny Institute (Mataró).
All works submitted to the competition had to include a video with a brief explanation. Two ex aequo prizes were awarded for the best videos: "El preu de les galetes està justificat? Estudi experimental i sensorial amb galetes", from Joan Ardèvol Institute-School (Cambrils), and "Calculem bé el temps", from Sant Salvador School (Sant Feliu de LLobregat).
