Indicators of Service Sector Activity. Turnover Index. 04/2026

Idescat publishes for the first time the calendar and seasonally adjusted Service Sector Turnover Index, as well as by activity sectors. This information complements that previously disseminated for the unadjusted index.

The calendar and seasonally adjusted Service Sector Turnover Index increased by 7.3% year over year in Catalonia in April 2026. In monthly terms, compared to March 2026, the Index increased by 0.9%.

By activity sectors, trade grew by 8.7% and other services (i.e. non-trade ones) by 6.7%. Within these other services, the sectors that increased the most in year-over-year terms were accommodation and food service activities (14.1%), information and communications (9.7%) and transport and storage (7.4%). On the other hand, only the professional, scientific and technical activities sector decreased (−1.6%).
