The value of exports in Catalonia was 8,764.3 million euros in April 2026, a figure that represents an annual increase of 7.7%. Imports, with a value of 9,948.9 million euros, increased by 3.2%.

As for exports by economic destination, those of all goods increased: intermediate goods by 12.1%, capital goods by 4.0% and consumer goods by 2.7%. By geographical areas, they increased in the European Union by 11.2%, in America by 2.6% and in the rest of the world by 26.9%; on the other hand, sales in Asia decreased by 12.2%; and in other countries and territories of Europe (non-EU) they remained stable.

By branches of economic activity, the growth in sales of office, precise and optical equipment and machinery and equipment (29.3%; 31.3 M€) and basic metals and metals products (25.7%; 118.9 M€) stood out. On the other hand, the decrease in sales of mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (−7.8%; −17.6 M€) and food products and beverages (−7.6%; −89.8 M€) stood out.

As for imports by economic destination, intermediate goods increased by 6.5%; on the other hand, capital goods decreased by 6.6%; and consumer goods remained stable. By geographical areas, purchases in other countries and territories of Europe (non-EU) grew by 26.7%, in America by 8.9%, in the European Union by 2.7% and in the rest of the world by 11.4%; on the other hand, they decreased by 4.3% in Asia.

By branches of economic activity, the increase in purchases of mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (22.5%; 159.7 M€), crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (20.7%; 100.3 M€) and motor vehicles and other transport equipment (14.8%; 210.3 M€) stood out. On the other hand, the decrease in purchases of office, precise and optical equipment (−35.6%; −138.9 M€) stood out.
