The number of trips made by Catalans decreased 7.6% year–over–year in the first quarter 2026. People residing in Catalonia made 5.5 million trips, involving 19.6 million overnight stays, an average stay of 3.6 nights, and an expenditure of 2,161 million euros.

The expenditure of Catalans on trips in the first quarter came to 393 euros per person, which represents an increase of 3.3% in comparison with the first quarter of 2025, and an expenditure of 110 euros per day, with represents an increased of 14.9%.

The number of day trips made by people residing in Catalonia stood at 7.5 million in the first quarter of 2026, 9.1% less than in the same quarter of the previous year.

It is necessary to keep in mind the Easter effect, since this year it was celebrated in March and April and in 2025 it was celebrated in April.
