Idescat is taking part in the event Hermes: Thirty Years of Information, a Future of Knowledge, organised by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism of the Barcelona Provincial Council on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Hermes territorial information system. The event is taking place today, Monday 29 June, at the Barcelona Maritime Museum.

Specifically, Idescat is contributing with the presentation "El fil invisible, el valor estratègic de la informació en el progrés territorial” (The Invisible Thread: The Strategic Value of Information in Territorial Progress), delivered by Cristina Rovira, Deputy Director General for Production and Coordination at Idescat.

The event aims to become a space for recognising three decades of the Hermes system’s trajectory and, at the same time, to look ahead to the future of territorial information. The programme includes contributions from experts and key figures in the development of Hermes, as well as the presentation of the new system and its main new features.

Hermes is a territorial information tool aimed at local governments, professionals in analysis and planning, organisations, and citizens interested in the development of their municipalities. Over these thirty years, it has helped to facilitate access to territorial information and to strengthen a data culture in the service of knowledge and decision-making.
