Idescat incorporates the official codifications of the health and police territorial divisions

Idescat has incorporated into the territorial and entity codes section of the website the official codifications of the health territorial division, established by the Ministry of Health, and the territorial division of the Police of Catalonia - Mossos d’Esquadra, established by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Public Safety. This update ensures the use of official codifications in territorial and statistical information.

When the territorial and entity codes section was created, there were no official codifications for these territorial areas. For this reason, Idescat established its own codification for health regions and sectors, as well as for police regions and basic police areas, in order to ensure their identification and statistical processing. Subsequently, the competent ministries approved the corresponding official codifications, which are now incorporated into the section.

The updated information allows for the consultation of the territorial boundaries in force at any point in time, while maintaining historical traceability from 1 June 1994 in the health field and from 25 March 1998 in the police field.
