Statistics on Rural Tourism Accommodation Activity. Q2/2026

The number of overnight stays in rural tourism establishments in Catalonia increased by a year-over-year 4.2% in the second quarter of 2026, according to provisional data from the Rural Tourist Accommodation Occupancy Survey.

By country of origin, the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists grew by 5.1% (Catalan tourism increased by 4.1% and that proceeding from the rest of Spain by 21.9%) and foreign tourism grew by 0.9%.

On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in rural tourism establishments increased by a year-over-year 12.9%.

Note that in 2026 Easter was celebrated between the months of March and April in 2025 it took place in April.
