Foreign Trade according to Technological Content. Q2/2026

Catalonia exported industrial products worth 25,566.7 million euros in the second quarter of 2026, representing a 3.2% increase compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The grouping of industrial products by research and development (R&D) intensity shows that foreign sales of industrial products decreased in the high- and low-technology levels (−17.3% and −4.8%, respectively), while they increased in the medium high- and medium low-technology levels (9.5% and 19.4%, respectively).

Catalonia imported industrial products worth 28,513.5 million euros in the second quarter of 2026, representing a 7.1% growth compared to the same quarter of the previous year. By technology levels, imports of high-technology products have decreased by 9.0% and those of low-technology level by 1.1%; in contrast, those of medium high-technology level have increased by 11.7% and those of medium low-technology level by 19.6%.
