Consumer Confidence Index. 06/2026

The Consumer Confidence Index for Catalonia reached a value of 84.2 in June 2026, which represents an increase of 4.6 percentage points compared to one month ago and of 6.2 points compared to June 2025.

This index is based on consumers’ assessments of the current situation compared with six months earlier and on their expectations for the next six months, taking into account the following three components: the household economy, the labour market and the general economy.

Regarding the household economy confidence index, it reached a value of 97.6, a figure that represents an increase of 0.7 points, both compared to May and to one year earlier (June 2025). Regarding expectations in the household economy, it is the only index valued above 100, with a value of 104.6 (2.2 points lower than in May 2026 and 3.1 points higher in year-over-year terms).

The labour market confidence index reached 81.0, representing an increase compared both with May 2026 (5.1 points) and with the same month of the previous year (7.9 points).

As for the general economy confidence index, it stood at 74.0, the lowest rating among the three components, a position it has held continuously since October 2024. This value is 8.0 points higher than in May 2026 and 10.0 points higher than in the same month of the previous year (June 2025).

In June 2026, the assessment of the situation compared to six months earlier registered an index value of 80.3, which is 5.4 points higher than the figure recorded in the previous month (May 2026). This result is explained by the positive, albeit varying, performance of the three components: confidence in the household economy increased by 3.5 points, confidence in the labour market by 5.6 points, and confidence in the general economy by 7.4 points, compared to the previous month.

In year-over-year terms, the assessment of the current situation recorded an increase of 2.3 points. This result reflects the positive evolution of two of the three components. In this regard, confidence in the household economic situation dropped by 1.7 points, in contrast to the increases in the labour market situation by 2.6 points and, even more, in the general economy by 6.1 points.

In relation to the next six months, the consumer confidence expectations index in June 2026 recorded a value of 88.1, an increase of 3.7 points compared to May 2026. This increase reflects the positive trend in expectations for the general economy and the labour market (8.6 points and 4.5 points, respectively), which offsets the negative evolution in household economic expectations (−2.2 points).

In year-over-year terms, that is, compared to June 2025, the expectations index increased by 10.2 points. This behavior is explained by the positive evolution of varying intensity of the three components. In this regard, expectations regarding household finances increased by 3.1 points in year-over-year terms, while expectations regarding the general economy and the labour market rose more intensely (14.1 points and 13.3 points, respectively).
