The unemployed population would be 358.2 thousand persons in the month of August this year, according to the Monthly Estimate of the Economically Active Population, a figure representing a decrease of 0.2% compared to August 2025 and an increase of 6.4% compared to July this year. This value would set the unemployment rate for the month of August at 8.3%.

The employed population is estimated to reach 3,974.6 thousand persons in August, a value representing a year-over-year increase of 0.5% and a decrease of 0.7% compared to July. The estimate of the employment rate in the month of August would be 56.7%.

With regard to economically active population, it is estimated that it would stand at 4,332.8 thousand persons in August, a figure representing a year-over-year increase of 0.4% and a decrease of 0.1% compared to July. This value would set the activity rate at 61.8% in August.
