The value of exports in Catalonia stood at 9,547.7 million euros in July 2026, a figure representing a year-over-year increase of 3.7%. Imports, worth 10,792.7 million euros, increased by 3.4%.

Regarding exports by economic destination, capital goods increased by 17.4% and intermediate goods by 10.0%, while consumer goods decreased by 5.7%. By geographical area, sales decreased in non-EU European countries and territories (−12.1%) and in Asia (−5.2%); on the other hand, sales increased in America (5.2%), in the European Union (4.7%) and in the rest of the world (34.0%).

By branch of economic activity, the growth in energy products, mining and petroleum refining (73.9%; 155.4 M€), metallurgy and metal products (25.7%; 123.2 M€) and machinery and mechanical equipment (19.8%; 109.9 M€) was notable. On the other hand, the decrease in sales of food and beverages (−10.4%; −139.6 M€) and electrical and electronic equipment (−8.0%; −51.6 M€) stood out.

Regarding imports by economic destination, all types of goods increased: capital goods by 5.7%, consumer goods by 3.6% and intermediate goods by 3.0%. By geographical area, purchases grew in non-EU European countries and territories (14.7%), America (9.4%), in the European Union (3.1%) and in Asia (3.0%); on the other hand, purchases decreased in the rest of the world (−7.8%).

By branch of economic activity, the increase in purchases of motor vehicles and other transport equipment (22.4%; 339.1 M€), machinery and mechanical equipment (10.3%; 66.9 M€) and of food and beverages (9.0%; 78.2 M€) stood out. On the other hand, the decrease in purchases of agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry and fishing (−11.9%; −61.7 M€) and of office machinery, precision and optical instruments (−10.9%; −34.3 M€) stood out.
