The number of trips made by Catalans decreased 7.6% year-over-year in the second quarter 2026. People residing in Catalonia made 8.2 million trips, involving 28.5 million overnight stays, an average stay of 3.5 nights, and an expenditure of 2,161 million euros.

The expenditure of Catalans on trips in the second quarter came to 364 euros per person, which represents an increase of 10.3% in comparison with the second quarter of 2025, and an expenditure of 104 euros per day, which represents an increase of 8.7%.

The number of day trips made by people residing in Catalonia stood at 8.0 million in the second quarter of 2026, 0.1% less than in the same quarter of the previous year.

It is necessary to keep in mind the Easter effect, since this year it was celebrated in March and April and in 2025 it was celebrated in April.
