Idescat takes part in the 50th International Conference on Regional Science
The Statistical Institute of Catalonia (Idescat) is taking part in the 50th International Conference on Regional Science, held in Barcelona from 21 to 23 October 2026, where it will present five papers focused on the development of new statistical methodologies and indicators for analysing Catalonia’s economic, social and territorial reality.

Specifically, Idescat is presenting the following five papers:
These contributions address several lines of statistical innovation, such as producing economic estimates at a higher frequency and developing a new indicator to gain deeper insight into socioeconomic and territorial inequalities.
Taking part in this conference allows Idescat to share its methodological advances and the results of its work with the scientific community, and to strengthen the links between official statistics and applied research.
The 50th International Conference on Regional Science is a scientific gathering organised by the Spanish Regional Science Association (AECR) and the Catalan Regional Science Association (ACCR), bringing together researchers, academics and professionals specialising in territorial dynamics and regional development policies.
This 50th edition focuses on the challenges of regional development, with particular attention to sustainability, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
