Statistics on Foreign Tourism. 09/2026

The number of foreign tourists who arrived in Catalonia in September 2026 stood at 2.1 million, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 4.5%.

By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came were France, the United Kingdom and the United States, with 308.8, 258.8 and 237.3 thousand tourists, respectively. These figures represent a year-over-year variation of −2.4%, 14.7% and 22.9%, respectively.

By reason for travelling, leisure trips, business trips and trips for other reasons (health, studies, family...) had a tourist influx of 1.9 million, 114.5 and 114.0 thousand tourists, respectively.

As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar establishments had an influx of 1.6 million tourists.
