Quarterly Accounts. Q3/2026. Advance of the GDP

The gross domestic product of Catalonia increased by 2.9% year-over-year in the third quarter of 2026, according to the advance estimate. In quarter-over-quarter terms, the rate of change in Catalonia stood at 0.7%.

The year-over-year rate of change for the third quarter of 2026 was 2.9%, one tenth of a point lower than that of the second quarter (3.0%). By large activity sectors the services sector registered a year-over-year rate of change of 3.5%, equal as in the previous quarter; industry reached a rate of change of 1.1%, one tenth of a point less than in the previous quarter (1.2%); and construction showed a rate of change of 4.3%, one percentage point and one tenth below that of the last quarter (5.4%). Finally, agriculture registered a year-over-year rate of change of 0.1%, nine tenths of a point less than in the second quarter of the year (1.0%).

The objective of the Quarterly Advance of GDP is to provide information on the evolution of the Catalan economy with the minimum possible delay with respect to the reference quarter. For this reason, the calculation of the main aggregates uses statistical sources that do not cover the full period and normally do not include data for the third month of the quarter.

The advance of the GDP results for the third quarter of 2026 is provisional and will be updated in the next Quarterly Accounts release, scheduled for 14 December.
