Industrial Production Index. 09/2026

The calendar and seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index remained virtually stable (−0.1%) in Catalonia in September 2026 compared toa year ago. In monthly terms, compared with August 2026, the Index increased by 3.3%.

By economic destination of goods, the sectors that decreased in year-over-year terms were intermediate goods by 1.6% and energy by 0.5%, while only capital goods increased by 2.2%, and consumer goods remained stable (0.0%). With regard to the industrial products index, which excludes energy, it remained virtually stable (−0.1%) compared with the same month of the previous year.

By section and branch of activity, the largest year-over-year decreases were recorded in the chemical industries (−5.1%) and in the electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment industries (−2.3%); by contrast, the most significant increases occurred in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (5.0%) and the manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (4.6%).
