AFI Contributors and Affiliations to Social Security based on Contributors' Registered Place of Residence

The statistics on Contributors and Affiliations to Social Security based on Contributors' Registered Place of Residence provide information on the number of contributors and affiliations by municipalities, counties and Aran, areas of the Territorial Plan, provinces and Catalonia.

In the contributors data, each person is counted only once, regardless of the number of active affiliations they may have. In contrast, in the affiliations data, the same person may be counted as many times as active contribution records they have, whether within the same contribution regime or across different contribution regimes.

Contributors are presented according to the main demographic variables (sex, age and nationality) and by number of affiliations. Affiliations are disseminated by the same demographic variables and by type of employment relationship, contribution regime and economic activity. Employee affiliations are also disseminated by type of contract, type of working day, contribution group and legal form of the employing company. Data on the level of temporary contract and the level of part-time work is also available. In addition, self-employed affiliations are disseminated by situation of pluriactivity and availability of dependent workers. Data on affiliations to the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers by type of group are also presented.

The disseminated data result from the statistical processing of the affiliations and contribution account files received by Idescat from Social Security. From May 2020 onwards, the data are monthly and refer to the last working day of the month. Up to March 2020, the information has a quarterly frequency and refers to the last working day of the quarter.
