E02 Territorial Wage Statistics

The results presented in these experimental statistics come from the exploitation of wage information from the Longitudinal Statistics on Working Lives, which is carried out in collaboration with the Municipal Data Office of the Barcelona City Council.

The Longitudinal Statistics on Working Lives is an organized set of anonymous microdata extracted from administrative records from the Social Security, the Longitudinal Population Register and the Spanish Tax Agency.

The Municipal Data Office began the exploitation of the wage information contained in the Longitudinal Statistics on Working Lives with the aim of compiling detailed statistics on the wages received by the residents in the city of Barcelona. The methodology used by the Municipal Data Office has been applied as a reference to municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants and to Catalonia as a whole in order to compile contextual data.

As these are experimental statistics, the results disseminated are provisional, may be subject to revision and improvement, and do not have the status of official statistics.
