Survey on ICT Equipment and Use in Households 2025
The Survey on ICT Equipment and Use in Households provides information on the ICT equipment of households (computer, tablet, landline telephone, mobile phone, Internet connection) and the use made by the population of the computer, Internet and e-trade. This is an annual sample survey carried out by the INE with the collaboration of the Institute, through an agreement between the two institutions. Idescat extends the results provided by this statistical operation for Catalonia. The information obtained is comparable among autonomous communities, Spain as a whole, and other countries.
The results regarding the ICT equipment of households are broken down by household characteristics (size of the municipality, size of the household, type of household and net monthly household income). The tables containing the results on the use of ICT provide information broken down by demographic and socio-economic characteristics.
The information disseminated relates to dwellings where at least one person aged 16 to 74 lives, and to the individuals within this same age group.
Data have been calculated using estimates of main dwellings and of the population residing in them, based on the INE's Population Figures as of 15 May 2024. The results on ICT use have been calibrated by nationality, sex, and age.
In addition to the 2025 results, information from this survey for other years can be consulted in Research · Technology section. A short version of the results is also available in the economic structure indicators.
