VIH Statistics on HIV/STD Morbidity, Prevalence, Behaviours and Clinical Monitoring

Information on population incidence and prevalence is obtained from individualized or numerical notification bulletins, in cases of mandatory declaration diseases. In the case of sexually transmitted diseases that do not need to be notified, the information comes from voluntary clinical statements and microbiological notifications. The information on prevalence and behaviors associated with the transmission of HIV and other STIs in sentinel population groups comes from screening of these populations and the systematic collection of manual information. Finally, the information related to the clinical monitoring is obtained from the bulletins of notification of the diagnostic activity of the laboratories and from follow-up studies of patients under treatment.
