Government approves the new decree on the organisation of Idescat

The Government has approved the new decree on the organisation and functioning of Idescat with the aim of modernising its structure, strengthening its leadership and adapting it to the new challenges of data production and governance.

The employed population in Catalonia grew by 0.4% year over year in the first quarter of 2026. The unemployment rate stood at 10.12%, with a total of 435,600 unemployed people (59,200 people more than the previous year, with a increase of 15.7%).
