Methodological note
The Projected old-age dependency ratio is the quotient between the number of people aged 65 or over and the number of people aged between 15 and 64. It is one of the classic measurements of the structure by age and the ageing of the population.
Data for Catalonia have been calculated upon the information by age in the Population Projections (base 2024) carried out by Idescat. Data for the European Unio use 2022 population as base population.
