Board of Governors

Collegiate governing body of Idescat. In accordance with Decree 62/2026, of 28 April, on the organisation and operation of the Statistical Institute of Catalonia, the Board of Governors is made up of the following members:

• The President, who is the Catalan Minister responsible for economic policy.

• Five ordinary members:

  • The Secretary General of the Ministry responsible for economic policy.
  • The Head of the management unit of the Catalan Ministry to which Idescat is attached.
  • The Director of Idescat.
  • One representative of the Governing Council of the Statistical System of Catalonia appointed by its President.
  • One expert in the field of official statistics with the status of independent member, in accordance with the regulations on collegiate governing bodies of the public sector entities of the Administration of the Government of Catalonia, designated by the President of the Board of Governors.
• The Secretary, who is a Deputy Director General of Idescat, designated by the Director.

The Board of Governors is responsible for approving the draft budget proposal, the annual report and the annual activities plan. It shall be informed about the collaboration agreements signed by the Director of Idescat and, in general, shall assume the functions submitted to it by the President.
