Exports increased by a year-over-year 6.1% and imports decreased by 4.2% in Catalonia in April 2023.

By economic destination, exports of consumer goods (16.1%) and of capital goods (13.6%) increased; however, those of intermediate goods decreased by 0.5%. By geographical areas, the increases in sales to Central America and South America (40.7%) and to other countries of Europe (12.5%) stood out.

On the other hand, imports of intermediate goods (13.3%) and capital goods (2.0%) decreased; however, those of consumer goods increased by 19.0%. By geographical areas, the decreases in purchases from Central America and South America (31.0%) and other countries of Europe (12.5%) stood out; on the other hand, the increase in purchases from North America (25.6%) stood out.
