Retail Trade Index. 05/2023

The General Retail Trade Index (ICD) without service stations, at current prices, increased by 12.6% year-over-year in Catalonia in May 2023. By product type, food increased by 16.3% and the rest of products by 9.6%. Within the latter type, personal equipment increased by 7.4% compared with the same month in the previous year, household equipment increased by 2.4% and the other goods by 15.4%. During the same period, the General Retail Trade Index with service stations, at current prices, increased by 9.7% compared to one year ago.

At constant prices (i.e. eliminating the effect of prices) the retail trade index without service stations increased by 8.5% year-over-year.
