Annual Wage Structure Statistics. 2021

The gross annual salary per worker in Catalonia was 28,145.02 euros in 2021, 3.9% more than the previous year, according to the Annual Wage Structure Statistics. The gross annual salary of women grew 3.8% and reached 25,015.94 euros, while for men it grew 4.0% and reached 31,212.67 euros. Earnings per hour stood at 17.93 euros, 3.5% more than in 2020. By sex, the gain per hour for men was 19.14 euros, while for women it stood at 16.59 euros.

By large sector, industry had the highest gross annual salary (31,423.88 euros), followed by construction (27,678.90 euros) and services (27,486.53 euros).

By type of contract, the gross annual salary of employees with permanent contracts increased by 3.6% compared to 2020 and stood at 29,490.80 euros. The gross annual salary of those with temporary contracts increased by 1.8% year-over-year and stood at 20,647.97 euros. The earnings per hour were 18.49 euros in the case of employees with permanent contracts and 14.46 euros in the case of those with temporary contracts.
