Statistics on Salaried Employment and Self-Employment according to Social Security Affiliations. 06/2023. Provisional data

The number of affiliations to the General Social Security Scheme with location of the contribution account in Catalonia increased by 3.3% year-over-year in June 2023 and stood at 3,039,190 affiliations, according to provisional data. By counties, those with the highest relative increases were El Vallès Occidental (7.0%), El Segrià (5.9%) and El Alt Empordà (5.1%). On the other hand, El Moianès (−14.6%), La Terra Alta (−3.8%) and Aran (−2.8%) recorded the largest relative decreases. The largest increases in absolute terms were recorded in El Barcelonès (31,545 affiliations), El Vallès Occidental (23,420 affiliations) and El Baix Llobregat (8,470 affiliations), while El Moianès (−440 affiliations), El Pla d'Urgell (−175 affiliations) and El Montsià (−100 affiliations) recorded the largest losses of affiliations.

The number of self-employed workers carrying out economic activities in Catalonia rose slightly (0.1% year-over-year) to 559,295 affiliations. The counties that have recorded the greatest increase in relative terms are Aran (2.6%), La Cerdanya (1.8%) and El Garraf (1.6%). In absolute numbers, the growth was led by El Barcelonès (760 affiliations), El Tarragonès (215 affiliations) and El Garraf (180 affiliations). In relative terms, Aran (2.6%), La Cerdanya (1.8%) and El Garraf (1.6%) led the increase. On the other hand, La Segarra (−6.8%), Osona (−4.7%, affected by the creation of El Lluçanès) and La Ribera d’Ebre (−3.7%) are the counties with the largest relative decreases and Osona (−640 registrations, affected by the creation of El Lluçanès), El Baix Llobregat (−260 affiliations) and El Bages (−180 affiliations, affected by the creation of El Lluçanès) have done so in absolute terms.

The number of contribution accounts to the General Social Security Scheme in Catalonia increased by 0.3% year-over-year (647 contribution accounts) to 247,855 accounts. The counties that have led the growth in relative numbers are El Gironès (1.6%) and El Tarragonès and El Baix Empordà (1.5%, in both cases). In absolute numbers, El Barcelonès (701 contribution accounts) and El Tarragonès (128 contribution accounts) are the counties that have recorded the greatest growth. On the other hand, Osona (−210 contribution accounts, affected by the creation of El Lluçanès) and El Baix Llobregat (−124 contribution accounts) are the counties that have recorded the largest decreases in absolute terms.
