Retail Trade Index. 08/2023

The General Retail Trade Index (ICD) without service stations, at current prices, increased by 11.0% year-over-year in Catalonia in August 2023. By product type, food increased by 13.5% and the rest of products by 8.6%. Within the latter type, personal equipment increased by 16.2% compared with the same month in the previous year, household equipment decreased by 0.6% and the other goods increased by 9.3%. During the same period, the General Retail Trade Index with service stations, at current prices, increased by 9.3% compared to one year ago.

At constant prices (i.e. eliminating the effect of prices) the retail trade index without service stations increased by 10.5% year-over-year.
