Industrial Price Index. 09/2023

The industrial products price index (which does not include energy) increased by 0.3% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in September 2023.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) dropped by 6.6% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 26.6% and those of intermediate goods by 6.5%, while prices of consumer goods increased by 6.1% and those of capital goods by 2.3%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in metallurgy and manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (−10.6%) and in chemical industries (−9.9%). By contrast, prices increased in manufacture of beverages (13.3%) and in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (8.9%).
