Population and Housing Census. 2022–2023. Advance

The population of Catalonia on 1 January 2023 was 7,901,963 inhabitants and on 1 January 2022 it was 7,761,823 inhabitants, according to the Population and Housing Census.

An advance of the results of the 2022 and 2023 Population Census is released, which includes a disaggregation of the population by sex. Regarding the geographical scope, data is provided for Catalonia, provinces, areas of the Territorial Plan, counties and Aran and all municipalities.

Starting in 2022, the Population and Housing Census will take place annually. The complete results of the 2022 and 2023 Population Census will be disseminated during the year 2024.
