Idescat takes part in international MERGE project

Idescat is taking part in the MERGE project (“Measuring what matters: Improving usability and accessibility of policy frameworks and indicators for multidimensional well-being through collaboration”). MERGE is funded by the European Research Agency (ERA) under the EU Horizon programme and aims to build a broad consensus on indicators and frameworks for measuring multidimensional well-being within planetary boundaries in the European Union and Member States, as well as in global organisations and civil society.

MERGE’s strategy is to furnish a coordination platform and meeting point for researchers, policymakers, statistical authorities and civil society actors to enhance the usefulness and accessibility of frameworks and indicators on multidimensional well-being, while bolstering the transition towards economic policies which support sustainable development.

The MERGE project is coordinated by the University of Tampere (Finland). The other project partners are: ZOE Institute for Future-fit Economies, European Policy Centre, Demos Helsinki, University of Leiden, PIN Soc. Cons. A. R. L., University of Barcelona, University of Ghent, University of Ferrara, Research and Degrowth International, Statistical Institute of Catalonia, Plateforme des ONG Européennes du Secteur Social, University College London, Wellbeing Economy Alliance, UK Office for National Statistics and Joint Research Centre-European Commission.

The project is expected to run from January 2024 to December 2026.a
