Retail Trade Index. 12/2023

The General Retail Trade Index (ICD) without service stations, at current prices, increased by 8.4% year-over-year in Catalonia in December 2023. By product type, food increased by 7.7% and the rest of products by 9.0%. Within the latter type, personal equipment increased by 12.9% compared with the same month in the previous year, household equipment by 5.6% and the other goods by 18.3%. During the same period, the General Retail Trade Index with service stations, at current prices, increased by 7.4% compared to one year ago.

At constant prices (i.e. eliminating the effect of prices) the retail trade index without service stations increased by 6.5% year-over-year.
