Industrial Price Index. 12/2024 and year 2024. Provisional data

The industrial products price index (base 2021=100), which does not include energy, increased by 1.1% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in December 2024.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) increased by 1.6% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices prices increased by 3.3%, those of capital goods by 2.8% and those of consumer goods by 1.7%, while prices of intermediate goods decreased by 0.3%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant increases in prices were registered in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (4.5%) and in manufacture of beverages (3.2%). By contrast, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in printing and reproduction of recorded media (−3.1%) and in industry wood and cork, except furniture; articles of straw and plaiting materials (−2.7%).

In 2024, industrial products price index (which does not include energy), in annual average terms, increased by 2.1% in comparison with the previous year, according to provisional data.

The Industrial Price Index (which includes energy), in annual average terms, decreased by 1.9% compared with 2023. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 10.0% and those of intermediate goods by 2.9%, while prices of capital goods increased by 3.1% and those of consumer goods by 1.7%. By sections and divisions of the CCAE-2009, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in Industries of paper products (−3.1%) and in in industry wood and cork, except furniture; articles of straw and plaiting materials (−2.6%). By contrast, prices increased in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (4.0%) and in manufacture of beverages (3.6%).
