Large Store Sales Index. 12/2024 and year 2024

The Large Store Sales Index in Catalonia at current prices increased by 2.5% year-over-year in December 2024. By product group, the year-over-year increase is basically due to the increase in sales of non-food products (4.6%), as food sales grew more moderately (0.5%).

At constant prices (i.e. eliminating the effect of prices), the index registered a decrease of 0.6% in year-over-year terms. Sales of food products decreased by 1.8%, while sales of other products increased by 0.5%.

In 2024, the annual average of the Large Store Sales Index at current prices in Catalonia increased by 1.4% compared to the previous year. The performance of both types of products, food and the rest of products, was a 1.4% growth in each case.
