IVGS Large Store Sales Index

The Large Store Sales Index provides insight into the monthly evolution of the sales volumes of non-specialised retail trade establishments with a sales floor surface area equal to or greater than 2,500 square metres.

Idescat calculates the general indices, for the food industry and for the rest of products, at current and constant prices, for Catalonia.

Idescat prepares the results from information provided by all the large non-specialised stores in Catalonia. As far as the data for Spain is concerned, the INE computes a large store sales index which includes both specialised and non-specialised large stores.
