In 2024, exports fell by 0.5%, according to provisional data from the Customs and Special Taxes Department of the State Tax Administration Agency. By economic destination, exports of capital goods decreased by 6.1% and intermediate goods by 2.8%, while exports of consumer goods increased by 3.6%. By geographical area, the sales decreases other countries of Europe (−5.0%) and in the European Union (−2.3%) stand out. As for imports, they rose by 0.7% with increases in all type of goods: consumer goods by 0.2%, capital goods by 8.0% and intermediate goods by 0.1%. By geographic areas, the increase in purchases in North America (13.3%) stands out.

In december 2024 exports increased by a year-over-year 13.3% in Catalonia. By economic destination, exports consumer goods increased by 7.8%, capital goods by 7.5% and intermediate goods by 18.5%. By geographical area, sales in Central and South America (110.5%) andin North America (40.2%) stand out. On the other hand, imports grew by a year-over-year 8.7%, as a result of the increases in imports of all goods.
