Industrial Price Index. 05/2025

The industrial products price index (base 2021=100), which does not include energy, increased by 1.2% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in May 2025.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) increased by 0.7% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, prices of consumer goods increased by 3.1% and those of capital goods by 1.3%; on the other hand, energy prices decreased by 2.1% and those of intermediate goods by 0.8%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant increases in prices were registered in industries of food products (3.9%) and in manufacture of pharmaceutical products (3.2%). By contrast, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in metallurgy, manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (−5.0%) and in chemical industries (−2.8%).
