Martí (352) was for the first time the most popular name for boys born in Catalonia in 2024, and Sofia/Sofía (432) was also, for the first time, the most popular name for girls.

As for boys, second place went to Biel (346), followed by Marc (344), Leo (343), and Nil (340). As for girls, Sofía/Sofia topped the list (432), and Júlia/Julia (396) remained in second place. The third most popular name was Martina (349), followed by Ona (321) and Mia (320).

By areas of the Territorial Plan, Mateo was the most popular name in the Metropolitan Area; Arnau in the Girona Counties Area; Pol in El Camp de Tarragona Area; Martí in the Central Counties Area and the Ponent Area; Marc in Les Terres de l’Ebre Area; Jan in L’Alt Pirineu i Aran Area, and Biel in El Penedès Area.

Sofía/Sofia was the most frequent name for girls born in the Metropolitan Area and the Ponent Area, while Júlia/Julia was the most frequent one in El Camp de Tarragona Area, the Girona Counties Area, and L'Alt Pirineu i Aran Area. Martina topped the list in Les Terres de l’Ebre Area, Ona in the Central Counties Area, and Mia in El Penedès Area.
