Industrial Products Survey. 2024

The value of domestically produced industrial product sales in Catalonia reached 124,786 million euros in 2024, an increase of 1.7% compared to the year before, according to provisional data.

By economic division, the two divisions with the highest sales were food products at 28,455 million euros (representing 22.8% of total production sold) and chemical products at 16,777 million euros (13.4% of the total). The two divisions that increased their sales the most in comparison to 2023 correspond to other transport equipment, with an increase of 19.2%, and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, with an increase of 10.2%.

The branches with the highest sales value were motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers at 13,518 million euros (10.8% of total production), which represents a yearly increase of 10.2%, and meat and meat products with a sold production of 11,680 million euros (9.4% of total production) and an increase of 1.6% compared to the previous year. In relative terms, the two branches that grew the most are, in first place, leather articles and footwear, which shows an annual growth in sold production of 30.0%, and in second place, the sugar, cocoa, chocolate and confectionery products, with an increase of 24.6% compared to the previous year.

To interpret the results, it should be borne in mind that the data provided are at current prices and, therefore, the variations in some sectors may be more affected by the increase in product prices.
