Business Climate Survey. Q1/2026

The business situation of companies in Catalonia in the first quarter of 2026 registered a balance of 6.6 points. The percentage of managers of business establishments with a favourable opinion of their business situation in the first quarter was 21.2%, while 14.6% had an unfavourable opinion. The remaining 64.1% considered that their business situation remained stable.

By activity sector, trade and the accommodation and food service activities sector showed negative balances (−1.3 and −0.6, respectively), while the other services sector, construction and industry had positive balances of 11.2, 8.7 and 5.0 points, respectively.

Moreover, expectations regarding the business situation for the second quarter of 2026 registered a balance of 5.2 points. A total of 19.8% of managers believe that their business situation will be favourable, while 14.6% believe that it will be unfavourable. The remaining 65.5% believe that it will remain stable.
